Portugal, is known for its magnificent porcelain pottery.
The raw materials, which are exclusive from Portugal are
mixed in proportions according to a chemical formula directed
at responding to factors such as: mechanical resistance,
stability, vitrification, impermeability and refractoriness,
which result in a porcelain paste.
The paste is used inside the moulds, from which the pieces
are obtained. These are subjected to drying, finishing and
smoothing with the help of sponges and brushes. This is
followed by the gluing on of handles or decorations, always
by the hand by specialized artists. For millions of years,
man has fired and glazed his ceramics; Nowadays, the temperatures
round the 1300 ºC mark, obtaining the vitrification
and the nobility of the porcelain.
